2. DATA WE COLLECT
Email address, name (if provided by Apple/Google sign-in) and authentication data (upon registration)
Wake-up times, time zone, bet amounts, step goals, and weekdays (to provide the service)
Challenge results: date, step count reported at the end of a challenge, and payment status
Payment data – card or Apple Pay (tokenized exclusively via Stripe — no raw data stored)
Technical data (device type, iOS version, app version for debugging)
Motion data (steps): Counted on your device via Apple Core Motion. Only the step count at the end of a challenge is transmitted to our servers to determine whether the stake is charged. No continuous motion or health data is stored.
3. PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING
We process your data solely to:
– Provide app features (alarm, step counting, payment processing)
– Communicate in response to support requests
– Improve the app (usage statistics linked to your account ID)
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contractual performance) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests).
4. THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS
Supabase (Ireland / USA): Authentication and database storage. Data processing based on standard contractual clauses.
Stripe, Inc. (USA): Payment processing (card and Apple Pay). Stripe is PCI-DSS certified. Privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy
PostHog, Inc. (USA): Usage statistics (app events such as "challenge started"), linked to your account ID. Data processing based on standard contractual clauses.
Resend, Inc. (USA; sending via servers in Ireland): Sending account emails (e.g. sign-up confirmation, password reset), which includes your email address. Data processing based on standard contractual clauses.
GitHub, Inc. (USA): Hosting of our website getbetagainstyourself.com. When you visit the website, GitHub processes your IP address in server logs. Data processing based on standard contractual clauses.
Porkbun LLC (USA): Forwarding of emails sent to our support address.
Apple Core Motion: Step counting on your device.
5. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Account data is deleted as soon as you delete your account in the app or send us a deletion request. Payment histories are retained in accordance with statutory retention obligations (10 years).
6. YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Contact us at support@getbetagainstyourself.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
7. DATA SECURITY
All data is transmitted in encrypted form (TLS). Passwords are not stored in plain text. Payment data is held exclusively by Stripe.
8. COOKIES AND TRACKING
We do not use cookies or cross-site tracking.
9. CHANGES
Material changes to this Privacy Policy will be communicated via email or push notification.
